Facial Mask

Mask muka sangat penting untuk merawat (treat) masalah kulit muka. Ramai orang tidak tahu dan sering mengabaikan pemakaian Facial Mask

Tahu tak kenapa kita pakai mask..??

Kulit muka sentiasa terdedah pada persekitaran setiap hari seperti habuk, pancaran matahari, cuaca panas atau sejuk serta pelbagai lagi yang menjadikan sel-sel kulit rosak. Sel-sel kulit yang rosak boleh meyebabkan radikal bebas mudah terbentuk menjadikan kulit cepat kusam, berkedut, kering serta tidak cantik.

Mask biasanya mengandungi bahan-bahan aktif seperti vitamin dan mineral untuk memberi khasiat kepada kulit yang biasanya tidak terdapat pada produk lain. Lagi pun produk-produk lain banyak yang dicuci yang mana bermaksud bahan-bahan akif ini turut di cuci maka tidak banyak vitamin dan mineral yang di serap kulit.

Selalunya kita sering katakan kita dah jaga muka kita setiap hari, kita pakai pencuci muka, toner dan pelembab. Tapi tahukan anda itu hanya penjagaan harian yang bertindak melindungi kulit secara biasa sahaja... bagaimana dengan sel-sel kulit mati, kaedah ini tidak membuang sel-sel kulit yang dah mati. 

Sel-sel kulit kita adalah hidup secara belahan mitosis iaitu dari satu membelah menjadi dua, dari dua menjadi empat dan seterusnya lapan dan 16.. Bagi kanak-kanak dan remaja pertumbuhan sel-sel sangat aktif dan cepat, tetapi bagi orang dewasa sel-sel sudah semakin perlahan. Ini menyebabkan orang dewasa perlukan vitamin dan mineral tambahan untuk merawat kulit mereka.

Orang dewasa juga banyak terdedah kepada persekitaran yang tidak sihat seperti sinaran Ultra violet, panas terlampau, angin sejuk, habuk dan sebagainya yang mana boleh menyebabkan pembentukan radikal bebas iaitu sel-sel mudah rosak..

Berikut adalah beberapa kesan photodamage  yang boleh menyebabkan masalah penuaan

Kerana di dalam mask biasanya terdapat tambahan vitamin dan mineral yang diperlukan oleh kulit.Di dalam produk skincare harian peratus bahan-bahan ini tidak banyak dan biasanya terbuang begitu sahaja atau hanya sebagai pelindung kulit bukannya merawat kulit contohnya pencuci muka 


Facial Mask sebenarnya kita boleh buat sendiri di rumah..

Buat sendiri adalah lebih baik kerana menggunakan bahan-bahan semulajadi yang lebih selamat dan banyak khasiat. KIta boleh pilih sendiri bahan-bahan mengikut jenis kulit kita sendiri.Bahn-bahan boleh di dapati dari sekitar rumah je..

Kebanyakan mask kesukaan ramai orang adalah yang memberikan kesan melembab, menghaluskan serta mencerahkan kulit.

Contohnya : -

madu - melembab
Susu  - menegang
putih telur - menegang 
Lemon - mencerah / pigmentasi
Carrot - melembab + vitamin
Susu kambing - melembab/ vitamin A
Tea tree - jerawat /kulit berminyak
Cengkih - jerawat / kulit berminyak

Anda boleh cuba beberapa mask yang menggunakan bahan-bahan semulajadi di sekeliling kita mengikut jenis kulit.

Apple Zinger Mask.
For the treatment of acne and oily skin.
    1 medium size fresh apple, grated
    5 tablespoons of honey
    Cool water to wash the face afterwards

    Preparation: Mix the grated apple with honey to make a mask.

    Application: Apply a thin layer of this Apple Zinger Mask on your whole face. Let it sit on the skin for 10 minutes and dry up a bit. Wash the mask off with cool water.

    Tip: This facial mask works best when fresh, and because it is very easy to prepare, it is highly-recommended that you make it just before you apply.

    Facts: Apple acts in two (2) ways to exfoliate the skin: Its fine grains help to gently slough off the dead cells that build on the skin’s surface, while its natural extracts, which contain an alpha hydroxyl acid, or AHA, called malic acid, promotes the micro-exfoliation of the dead skin cells. On the other hand, the rich moisturizing, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties of honey extract also help to protect the skin from dryness while reducing the microbes that cause acne breakouts.
Carrots and Honey Facial Mask.
For normal to oily skin and for protecting the skin from wrinkles.
    2 to 3 large carrots, cooked and mashed
    4-1/2 tablespoons honey

    Preparation: Stir ingredients together.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face - do not massage in - and leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Egg Whites and Lemon Facial Mask.
Cleanses pores, helps prevent and get rid of blackheads.
    2 egg whites
    1 teaspoon of lemon juice

    Preparation: Combine the lemon juice and egg white in a bowl. Beat until fluffy.
    Application: Apply to your face, avoid getting too close to your eyes. Wait for 10-20 minutes and rinse off with warm water.
Grapefruit Facial Mask.
For oily to normal skin.
    1 teaspoon grapefruit juice
    1 teaspoon sour cream
    1 egg white

    Preparation: Beat egg white until it is fluffy, add sour cream and grapfruit juice and blend well.
    Application: Apply to face for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
Lemon and Tomato Facial Mask.
To reduce acne and blackheads on oily skin.
    1 over-ripe tomato, inside scooped and mashed
    1 teaspoon lemon juice
    1 teaspoon instant oatmeal

    Preparation: Puree all ingredients in a blender.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
    Facts: A special facial mask formula for oily skin, this facial mask recipe combines the citric acid lemon, which helps to purify the pores, restore the balance of oil and moisture in oily skin and natural acids in tomato that help to give your skin a good cleaning while enhancing your skin’s natural rejuvenation process.
Strawberry Lemon Facial Mask.
For cleansing, firming, and reducing the greasiness in oily skin.
    1 teaspoon lemon juice
    2 egg whites
    3 teaspoons honey
    1 cup strawberries

    Preparation: Mix all ingredients with a blender or food processor.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Tomato with Potato Flour Facial Mask.
Excellent facial cleansing mask for oily skin.
    1 tomato
    2 tablespoons of potato flour
    Preparation: Peel the flesh of the tomato from the skin and seeds. Mix with potato flour to form a paste. Add more if runny.
    Application: Apply to your face and leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.

Facial Masks to Firm and Moisturize Dry Skin.



Autumn Apple Facial Mask.
To get rid of dry skin and dead skin cells.
    1/4 of an apple, mashed
    1/2 teaspoon Half-and-half cream
    1 teaspoon honey
    1 tablespoon oatmeal

    Preparation: Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a small bowl.
    Application: Apply evenly to your face. Leave on for 10 minutes and then rinse off.
Avocado and Carrot Facial Mask.
A rich cleansing and moisturizing mask for normal to dry skin types.
    1/2 ripe avocado
    1 carrot, boiled until soft
    1 tablespoon olive oil

    Preparation: Mix the carrots with the ripe avocado and olive oil in a blender.
    Application: Apply to the face. Leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry. Do not leave this one on for too long!
Avocado and Olive Oil Facial Mask.
Intensive nourishing and moisturizing mask for dry skin.
    1/2 avocado
    1 tablespoon olive oil

    Preparation: Mash the avocado and the olive oil together in a bowl.
    Application: Apply to your face and wait for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
Banana and Vitamin E Facial Mask.
To heal and brighten dry and dull-looking skin.
    1 medium to large ripe Banana, peeled and mashed
    4 capsules Vitamin E

    Preparation: Squeeze the liquid out of the Vitamin E's gel capsules and add to banana paste. Mix both ingredients together to create a paste
    Application: Avoiding the eye area, apply the mask and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
    Facts: Vitamin E can help heal the skin while the banana will energize the face.
Brown Sugar and Milk Mask/Scrub
To exfoliate and moisturize the skin.
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    1 to 2 tablespoon milk, anything but skim

    Preparation: Mix the two ingredients well.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and massage gently for a full minute - leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Chocolate Facial Mask.
A luxurious moisturizing mask for dry skin.
    1 tablespoon cocoa powder
    1 tablespoon heavy cream
    1 teaspoon cottage cheese
    4 teaspoon honey
    1 teaspoon oatmeal

    Preparation:Puree all ingredients in a blender.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Classic Milk Mask.
To moisturize, soften, and nourish dry skin.
    1 teaspoon powdered milk
    1 tablespoon runny honey
    1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
    2 drops essential oil
    1 tablespoon pulverized almonds

    Preparation: Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Egg Yolk and Honey Facial Mask.
To firm and moisturize dry skin.
    1 egg yolk
    1 teaspoon honey
    1 teaspoon whole milk or cream

    Preparation:Blend all of the ingredients together. Add another teaspoon of honey if you find it is runny.
    Application: Apply evenly to your face and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Egg Yolk, Honey, and Olive Oil Facial Mask.
Deep moisturizing facial mask for dry skin.
    1 egg yolk
    1 tablespoon honey
    1 teaspoon olive oil

    Preparation: Warm the honey to make it smooth and easier to mix with the other ingredients. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
    Application: Apply the facial mask evenly to your face and neck. Leave on for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water.
Rosewood Exfoliating Mask.
To exfoliate dead skin cells and soften dry skin.
    2 tablespoons sugar
    3 tablespoons warm water
    2 drops essential oil - rosewood

    Preparation: Stir sugar in warm water until dissolved. Add rosewood essential oil.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and massage gently for 5 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.

Soothing Facial Mask for Sunburned or Irritated Skin.


Yogurt Walnut Scrub 
To exfoliate and soothe normal and combination skin.
    1/4 cup plain yogurt; chilled
    1/4 cup walnuts, ground or pulverized

    Preparation: Stir ingredients together.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and gently massage to exfoliate the dead and rough skin cells. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
    Facts: This facial mask makes use of the exfoliating abilities of nuts and the soothing and nourishing effects of yogurt to care for the skin.

Facial Masks for Normal Skin Type:


Avocado and Carrot Facial Mask.
A rich cleansing and moisturizing mask for normal to dry skin types.
    1/2 ripe avocado
    1 carrot, boiled and mashed
    1 tablespoon olive oil

    Preparation: Combine mashed carrots and avocado in a blender. Add olive oil.
    Application Apply to the face. Leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry. Do not leave this one on for too long on the face!
Banana, Honey and Yogurt Facial Mask.
To cleanse and moisturize the face.

    1/2 ripe banana
    2 tablespoons yogurt
    1 tablespoon honey

    Preparation: Mash the banana with a fork then mix in honey and yogurt.
    Application: Apply to your face evenly. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water or soft wash cloth.
Cornmeal Facial Scrub.
To exfoliate, soften, and brighten dry and dull-looking skin.

    Cornmeal
    Water

    Preparation: Mix cornmeal with enough water to make a paste.
    Application: Apply to skin in a circular motion. Allow to dry and rinse off with cool water.
Honey and Ricotta Cheese Facial Mask.
To deeply nourish the skin.
    1/4 cup ricotta cheese
    2 tablespoons honey

    Preparation: Warm the honey to make it smooth and runny and easier to blend. In a small bowl, combine all of then ingredients.
    Application: Apply the facial mask evenly to your face and neck. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water.
Soothing Strawberry Scrub.
To exfoliate and soothe normal or combination skin.

    1/4 cup plain yogurt, chilled
    3 to 4 pieces strawberries, mashed

    Preparation: Stir all ingredients together.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and gently massage strawberry mixture to exfoliate. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.

Facial Masks for Combination Skin Type.


Banana Avocado Mask.
To nourish and enhance cell renewal of combination skin.

    1/2 banana
    1/2 avocado
    2 tablespoons full-fat yogurt
    1 teaspoon olive oil

    Preparation: Puree all ingredients in a blender.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Brewer’s Yeast Facial Mask.
To clear the oily parts of your face, i.e., for combination skin.
    1 teaspoon of Brewer's Yeast
    2 tablespoons plain yogurt

    Preparation:Combine the yogurt and the yeast. You may add a little more yogurt if needed.
    Application: Place this mixture on the oily parts of your face - not the whole face. Wait 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.
Cornmeal Facial Scrub.
To exfoliate, soften, and brighten dry and dull-looking skin.
    Cornmeal
    Water

    Preparation: Mix cornmeal with enough water to make a paste.
    Application: Apply to skin in a circular motion. Allow to dry and rinse off with cool water.

Orange Yogurt Facial Mask.
To remove clogged impurities from pores and nourish the skin.
    1 teaspoon plain yogurt
    Juice of 1/4 of an orange

    Preparation: Stir all ingredients in a bowl to create a paste.
    Application: Smooth the mixture onto your face and leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
    Tip: This facial mask offers both a cool and relaxing sensation. The invigorating scent of orange also makes this facial mask best to indulge in if you are feeling sluggish.
    Facts: The yogurt will cleanse and nourish the skin, while the orange's Vitamin C and AHA help to improve the skin's natural cell regeneration process.
Papaya Facial Mask.
To whiten and smooth the skin.
    1 ripe Papaya

    Preparation:Peel and remove the seeds of papaya. Chop into pieces and drop into food processor. Puree until papaya is of the consistency of baby food.
    Application: Use 1/2 tablespoon for each facial.
    Tip: Keep leftovers in a baggie in the fridge.
    Facts: Research shows that it is one of the best non-abrasive masks that you can use. It contains a strong enzyme from papaya, called Papain, which dissolves oil and dead skin cells.

Apricot and Milk Facial Mask.
A moisturizing and healing mask to revitalize the skin.
    1/2 cup of dried apricots; chopped
    1/2 cup of warm water
    1 tablespoon dry milk powder; powdered creamer works too
    1 tablespoon honey; more if runny

    Preparation: Puree all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
    Application: Apply to the face and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry with a soft towel.
Avocado Facial Mask.
A skin-softening and nourishing facial mask.
    1/2 Avocado

    Preparation: Mash avocado until it becomes smooth and easy to apply for a facial mask.
    Application: Apply evenly to your face. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water or soft wash cloth.
Banana Oatmeal Mask.
To soften and invigorate dull-looking complexion and help to prevent skin troubles.
    1 medium to large-sized ripe Banana
    1/3 to 1/2 cup oatmeal (depends on the size of the banana)

    Preparation: Mash the oatmeal into the soft peeled banana a little at a time. Continue until all of the oatmeal is moistened.
    Application: Apply to your face evenly, leaving it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water or soft wash cloth.
Cornmeal Facial Scrub.
To exfoliate, soften, and brighten dry and dull-looking skin.
    Cornmeal
    Water

    Preparation: Mix cornmeal with enough water to make a paste.
    Application: Apply to skin in a circular motion. Allow to dry and rinse off with cool water.
Cucumber and Yogurt Facial Mask.
To soothe and invigorate tired and dull-looking skin.
    1/2 cucumber
    1 tablespoon yogurt

    Preparation: Puree cucumber and yogurt in a blender.
    Application: Apply to your face evenly. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water or soft wash cloth.
Egg Yolk and Honey Facial Mask.

    1 egg yolk
    1 teaspoon honey
    1 teaspoon whole milk or cream

Firming Peach Facial Mask.

    1 ripe peach
    1 egg white
    1 teaspoon full-fat yogurt

    Preparation: Puree all ingredients in a blender.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Honey and Ricotta Cheese Facial Mask.
To deeply nourish the skin.
    1/4 cup ricotta cheese
    2 tablespoons honey

    Preparation: Warm the honey to make it smooth and runny and easier to blend. In a small bowl, combine all of then ingredients.
    Application: Apply the facial mask evenly to your face and neck. Leave on for 20 minutes and wash off with warm water.
Firming Peach and Honey Mask.
To firm and tighten sagging skin and brighten dull-looking complexion.
    1 medium peach
    1 tablespoon honey
    1 tablespoon yogurt

    Preparation: Boil the peach until soft and can be mashed. Blend with honey and yogurt.
    Application: Apply to the face and leave on for 20 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Nourishing Face Mask.
To deeply nourish tired and stressed skin.
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon almond oil
    1 tablespoon Half-and-half cream

    Preparation: Combine the ingredients to make a paste.
    Application: Apply to your face evenly. Leave on for about 15 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.

    1 soft medium peach; fork mashed
    1 tablespoons honey
    Oatmeal

    Application: Apply to freshly-cleaned face and leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Refreshing Cucumber Facial Mask.
To refresh your tired and stressed skin, especially after a long day.
    1 tablespoon full-fat yogurt
    1 tablespoon cucumber, chopped
    1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

    Preparation: Puree all ingredients in a blender.
    Application: Apply to freshly cleaned face and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Soothing Facial Mask: To heal irritated skin, i.e., sunburned face or shoulders.
    1 part plain yogurt, chilled
    1/2 part old fashioned oatmeal
    Optional: 2 drops essential oil - Jasmine

    Preparation: Stir ingredients together in a bowl. Add jasmine essential oil.
    Application: Apply to area and leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water and pat dry.
Strawberries and Cream Facial Mask.
A great weekly facial mask to revitalize, clear, and moisturize the skin.
    4 to 5 very ripe medium-sized strawberries
    2 teaspoons heavy cream
    1 teaspoon honey

    Preparation: Puree strawberries, cream and honey together in a blender.
    Application: Apply to your face evenly. Leave it on for 10 minutes. Rinse off with cool water or soft wash cloth.
